Tour #7 ***
:
I said another trip to the Verdon Canyon, here it is!. The Gorges du Verdon
is a "must" for most of the motorcycle riders. That's why you can see on
the tour, from the noisy custom bike to the speedy sport bike and the the
hight trail bike. The pain here is the mobilehome vehicles, they have their
place here as much as a sports bike on a snow trail. Thats why its better
here to avoid the summer holidays
We start here from Marseille so that we can finish with the road from
St Maximin to Auriol which gives some more nice twisties.
On the other hand it is better for you to have the tour clock wise
done so that you can ride on the canyon side of the road.
Here is a global overview of the trip, you'll find downunder the details
of the canyon road.
-
To start, a standard road, to Aix and the highway to Sisteron that you
will leave at the Pertuis exit and follow the Peyrolles direction.
-
At the Pont de Mirabeau follow Gréoux les bains on the D952, then
Riez and Moustier saint Marie.
-
From here you start theVerdon Canyon with the north road.
-
You can have a lunch break in la Palud sur Verdon before continuing up
to Pont de Soleils on the right where we follow the D955 to Jabron and
Comps/Artuby.
-
Then back with the south road, you pass the Pont de l'Artuby (Site for
Bungy) , after many tunnels and much more twisties you find Aiguines where
you find nice terrasse for a drink.
-
For the way back take the Aups direction ( good idea to follow the D19
et 619), then Sillans la Cascade , Barjols and St Maximin.
-
From St Maximin follow direction Nans les pins and St Zacharie before Auriol,
Aubagne and at last " la Bonne Mère"...
Here for the canyon roads.
